Police have arrested a doctor and his daughter after the decapitated body of a naked man was found in a notorious ‘love hotel’ in Japan.
The headless corpse of Hitoshi Ura, 62, was discovered by staff at the Let’s Susukino Hotel in Sapporo’s Susukino district.
A worker stumbled upon the shocking scene in a room on the second floor of the hotel on July 2 after Mr. Ura failed to check out of his room that afternoon.
His naked body was sprawled across the bathroom, the victim’s head nowhere to be seen.
Doctor Osamu Tamura, 59, and his daughter Runa, 29, have now been arrested on suspicion of involvement in his murder, according to local news reports in Japan.

An autopsy on Ura’s mutilated body determined that his cause of death was hemorrhagic shock due to blood loss from stab wounds.
His head was sawed off with a knife, after which it was removed from the crime scene.
Mr Tamura and his daughter were reportedly detained on Monday in connection with the brutal beheading of Mr Ura.
Police are now trying to determine if there is a relationship between the couple and Mr Ura, as well as a possible motive.
Police told Japanese newspaper The Mainichi that Mr Tamura’s daughter may have been known to the victim prior to the horrific incident.
However, they have yet to reveal whether any of the arrested duos have pleaded guilty to any of the charges.
Investigators allege that Mr. Ura and another person – believed to be Runa – checked into the hotel around 10:50 p.m. local time on July 1.
While the victim never emerged, his companion allegedly left the “love hotel” at 2am.
Police suspect Mr. Tamura dropped off and picked up his daughter, but say he did not enter the building.
