Horror accident in Thredbo as four people fall to the ground in a chairlift catastrophe

  • Chair detached from Kosciuzko ski lift on Saturday afternoon
  • Four riders hurled to the ground around 2.20pm, three injured

A chair broke off a ski lift on Saturday afternoon and fell to the ground at Thredbo Ski Resort.

The four guests were thrown to the ground halfway up the Kosciuzko Quad Express chairlift at around 2:20 p.m. when a gust of wind dislodged the chair.

A spokeswoman for NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia crews attended a call on Friday Drive, assessed Thredbo and two women in their 20s and a man in their 20s.

The two women were treated for back injuries and the man was treated for facial injuries.

Two patients were transported by helicopter to Canberra Hospital and a third to Cgrandmother health service.
