Chilling footage shows the moment a hysterical woman screams ‘where is he’ after an eight-year-old boy fell into the sea and disappeared between a cruise ship and the quay.
The child, believed to be from Northern Europe, was on holiday in Salerno, Italy, with his parents and sister when he got into trouble at the city’s port.
He held his father’s hand before breaking away and starting to run along the harbor wall, slipping and falling between the gap, according to Local media.
The father then dove after his son in a desperate bid to save him, before both became trapped between the cruise ship and the harbor wall.
Blood-curdling screams are heard in the video, which is said to have alerted passersby who rushed to get the father and son to safety.
Guards and volunteers managed to pull the boy’s father out of the water with the help of a life ring

In a moment that would be any parent’s worst nightmare, in the video a woman who appears to be the boy’s mother is heard desperately screaming “where is he?”
She frantically runs up and down the dock, looking for the boy.
With reports that the boy was struggling to find something to hold on to to stay above water, passersby worked quickly to fish him out of the water.
Guards and volunteers threw a rope to which the boy then clung, allowing him to be pulled to safety.

Rescuers keep trying to get his father up the steep wall, but eventually succeed with the help of a rescue belt.
No one was injured in the incident, but the boy is said to have been left shocked along with his terrified parents.
