This is the horrifying moment when a top young Russian gymnast fell from high circus wires and suffered a ‘serious head injury’ when a rope snapped during a performance.

Alexey Sh, 14, fell to the ground when his high wire straps came loose while performing spins in the Russian town of Zarechny in the Sverdlovsk region.

His young partner Kamilla was watching in the circus ring as part of the show and is seen fleeing backstage, visibly shaken by his horrific fall.

Alexey lay motionless on the floor of the main studio as the medics stormed in.

He underwent life-saving cranial surgery and will be transferred to a specialist hospital, and is currently in a coma.

Other young gymnasts can be seen in footage from Mash Ural media watching in horror as the medical team administers first aid to the stricken performer after his fall.

The young group is then led away from the harrowing scene.

A singer continues to perform, but suddenly turns around and realizes that a terrible accident happened behind her.

The show was canceled after the tragedy.

The talented gymnast was hospitalized and left in a coma.

He suffered “brain contusions and a fracture of his temporal bone,” reports said.

He now remains in an induced coma while doctors study his condition.

The gymnast had toured London with his female partner in 2017 and they can be seen outside Buckingham Palace in a photo.

The boy’s mother works at circus headquarters but was on vacation and did not witness the fall, according to local reports.

Police seized the “faulty equipment” and videos of the incident.

A criminal case has been opened for “providing services that do not meet safety requirements” and “negligently causing grievous bodily harm to the victim,” it was reported.

A statement said: “An investigation is underway.”

The maximum penalty is up to six years in prison.
