Horrifying moment stranger abducts Florida boy, 6, as child’s words to captor are revealed
Shocking footage captured the moment an accused kidnapper approached a little boy and lured him away from his Florida home.
Jose Reynaldo Martinez Reyes, 56, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and interference with custody after he was caught with 6-year-old Jake Rivera on Saturday a mile from the boy’s home.
Rivera was playing football with his older brother in front of their home when the brother went inside to use the bathroom and approached Reyes, according to Miami-Dade police.
Surveillance video from a neighbor’s home obtained by NBC6 Reyes showed as he kicked the ball around with the boy.
After briefly playing with the child, Reyes put his arm around Rivera and ordered him to walk away from the house.
Police said that after Reyes befriended the 6-year-old, he lured him out of the home with the promise of buying him a toy.
“The man came up to me and said, ‘Do you want to come with me?’ And I said sure,” Rivera told the local news station.
When the older brother returned and realized Rivera was missing, he grabbed his cousin and started looking for the child.

“I was sleeping and my cousin woke me up and said my nephew had been kidnapped by a man,” said Alfredo Velasquez, their cousin.
The couple found Reyes and Rivera holding hands along the roadway, more than a mile from their home.
Rivera’s brother confronted Reyes, who claimed the boy was his child and began physically struggling to gain control of him.
“His older brother came in and pushed him and hit him just to get his brother back and put him in the car,” Velasquez said.
The investigation revealed that Reyes has no family ties to the person involved in this incident and that he was a stranger to the child.

Despite the man’s vigorous efforts, the father never lost control of the child and the alleged kidnapping attempt was unsuccessful.
Stowe, a gang member with 33 previous arrests, was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted kidnapping, authorities and sources told police. New York Post.
He was also charged with acting in a manner harmful to a child and intimidation and was held without bail during his arraignment.
