Thiago de Lima told police investigators that his wife had tried to take the gun from him just before he shot and killed her
Erika de Lima, mother of two daughters from a previous relationship, and Thiago de Lima were married for six months, Brazilian news channel G1 reported.
The woman reported the incident to the police on October 30 after Thiago de Lima allegedly threatened her with a gun and pointed it at her head.
However, she declined to pursue criminal charges and did not seek an order of protection.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument the couple had after leaving a club, which sent Thiago de Lima into a jealous rage.
The argument continued at the couple's home and fell apart when Thiago de Lima pointed the gun and told Erika de Lima that she would not be there to see her daughters grow up.
