Horrified dog owner discovers ‘disgusting’ note left by neighbour: ‘Blatant threats’
A shocked dog owner is considering installing CCTV cameras after receiving a threatening note in her letterbox.
The Townsville, Queensland, woman said she immediately felt a “stomach ache” after discovering the handwritten letter on Wednesday.
“Whatever happened to the days of a neighbor coming to talk if he had a problem?” she wrote on a community forum on Facebook, with a photo of the note scrawled in permanent marker.

“Please find a way to silence your dog. It barks non-stop. The whole neighborhood is screaming about it,” it reads.
“My next option is to open your gate so it runs away. If that doesn’t work, I’ll poison it. I’d rather do neither of those things.’
According to Yahoothe shocked woman said she doesn’t know if her dog barks all day when she’s at work, but that he “doesn’t bark too much” when she’s home.
Locals were alarmed by the blatantly threatening message, with the majority saying there are more civil ways to tackle the problem.
“I understand that barking irritates me, my neighbor has a pug that barks a lot and at night too, as much as it annoys me, I wouldn’t threaten it,” one person commented.

Another said they would “definitely report that to the police.”
Looking for a solution, the woman said she plans to report the threatening letter and look into increasing security for her home.
Local law states that a pet owner must ensure that they do not make excessive noise for a ‘total of 6 minutes per hour from 7am to 10pm on each day’ or for a ‘total of 3 minutes in any period of 30 minutes from 10 p.m. to 10 p.m.’. 7am every day’.
Townsville City Council is urging residents with any concerns to contact their neighbors or give them a ‘Dear Neighbour’ letter to let them know their pet is causing noise pollution.
