Horrified Channel 4 host gasps ‘I just want to leave’ and couple break down in tears during horror property makeover on Worst House On The Street

A shocked Channel 4 presenter shouted: ‘I just want to get out’ and a couple burst into tears during a gruesome renovation of a property in Worst House On The Street.

Scarlette Douglas presents the programme alongside her older brother Stuart Douglas, a fellow property developer and retired footballer.

In Tuesday’s episode, which first aired in July, Scarlette, 37, and Stuart, 46, traveled to Nottingham to visit married couple Luke and Shurel in their new but dilapidated home.

Luke and Shurel, first-time parents, hoped to transform their home in just three months, as the lease on the house they lived in with their newborn son, Koa, was about to expire.

But that turned out to be quite a challenge when it turned out that their house had large holes in the ground and a musty smell.

In a recent episode, property developers Scarlette Douglas, 37, and brother Stuart Douglas, 37, travelled to Nottingham to visit couple Luke and Shurel at their new, but dilapidated, home

Luke and Shurel, first-time parents, hoped to transform their home within three months, as the lease on the home they lived in with their son Koa was expiring soon.

As she looked around the property, Scarlette, known for presenting A Place In The Sun, said: ‘I just want to get out. I just want to walk out of this room straight away.’

There were tears when Scarlette and Stuart explained how much work needed to be done and how it would put them over budget, but Luke and Sherel rose to the challenge.

After 14 weeks of sheer labor, the childhood sweethearts were left with a house that was completely unrecognizable.

Gone were the holes, the damp and the 15 layers of carpet. In their place Scarlette and Stuart were greeted with a light, airy and modern space.

On X, formerly Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on the mammoth task and the end result.

They wrote: ‘I can’t imagine anything worse than renovating a house with a baby in tow’;

“I think this house is my favorite house on the show so far”; “They must have spent a fortune on furniture.”

‘#besthouseonthestreet now #WorstHouseOnTheStreet really enjoyed this episode, definitely the best one yet.’

The completed house included an extension and an open kitchen. The front garden was also transformed.

But this soon proved to be quite a challenge when it turned out that their house had gaping holes in the ground and a persistent smell of damp.

Another recent episode saw a single mother transform her “horror house” into her “dream rainbow house.” But not everyone was convinced by her decorating choices.

Natalie and her six-year-old daughter Freda transformed their £200,000, ‘crumbling and neglected’ Bristol home.

With the help of hosts Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, Natalie was able to create her dream home for a renovation price of £78,000.

But viewers were divided over the end result, with some even finding it a bit childish, comparing it to a ‘playroom’ and an ‘Early Childhood Centre’.
