Horrific moment boy is punched to the ground after trying to save friend Jonathan Lewis, 17, who was ‘beaten to death’ by a pack of bullies in Las Vegas trying to defend another student

New footage has emerged of the moment a huge gang of teenagers brutally beat a high school student on the streets of Las Vegas.

Jonathan Lewis was attacked by about 15 other youths across the street from Rancho High School earlier this month.

Video of the vicious attack was captured on cellphone video from several angles and captures the horrific moment Lewis is attacked by the group of teenagers.

The footage also shows him throwing a punch before the core of the attack takes place.

The teenager had no chance against the crowd as they showed no mercy during their attack.

He died days later in a Vegas hospital from his injuries, with his father holding his hand as he sat by his bedside.

The attack took place on November 1, when the 17-year-old was beaten by the ferocious teenagers in broad daylight.

The new footage appears to provide sharper images of what happened when Lewis was beaten to a pulp and seen punching him.

Within seconds the pack pounces on him and knocks him to the ground.

So many boys get involved in the fight that it is no longer possible to see Lewis clearly, who is now lying flat on the ground.

The fight continues for about 30 more seconds as the group continues to punch and kick Lewis before the members of the group escape.

Other small fights also break out with punches between other teenagers, just steps away from where Lewis is now unconscious.

The video shows the boy who tried to intervene being surrounded by a smaller group of three to four teenagers. He also gets knocked down by punches, but manages to get back to his feet.

The heartbroken father added: “I think all of humanity has failed to recognize that we need to teach our young people how to live together.

“A few people attacked him, and they couldn’t hurt him enough, and they all attacked him at once,” the heartbroken father said.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have now launched a murder investigation.

No arrests have been made so far. Lewis said the family was told by investigators that they plan to charge several students in connection with murder.

The father said, “We’re just trying to process all of this. The whole family is in shock.”

Lewis created a GoFundMe page titled “Heart of a Champion Our Son,” where he posted a photo of himself holding his son’s hand in the hospital shortly before he died.

“He will always be as loved as his father, I will hold him in my heart forever, shine even brighter, love even more and work all my life to bring peace to this world,” Lewis wrote.

“Empathy and love are great powers and cowardly violence is pathetic,” the father added. ‘A true warrior would never cowardly defeat one person just because the two or three members of the group could not defeat the one warrior; a true warrior would allow the others to learn and grow.”

The teen said he was an aspiring artist and a devoted older brother.

“While our hearts are broken and this tragedy is absolutely absurd madness, we want to focus on our son’s legacy,” Lewis added.

“Jonathan was a loving, giving, kind, fierce young man who loved community and caring for others.”
