Horrific dog attack in Brisbane leaves six-year-old fighting for her life

Little girl, 6, fights for her life after being savagely mauled by a dog and ‘dragged’ through a backyard after the animal jumped the fence

A six-year-old girl fights for her life in the hospital after a vicious dog attack.

Emergency services were called to Ormesby St, Woodridge, south of Brisbane just after 4.30pm on Monday following the attack.

It is understood that the little girl is currently in a serious condition at Queensland Children’s Hospital after suffering significant abdominal, chest and shoulder injuries.

It is reported that the girl was standing on a fence when the dog, an Arabian bull, jumped up and dragged her into the yard.

A male relative of the girl jumped the fence to save her and was also bitten, sustaining leg injuries.

The man, in his late twenties, was taken to QEII Jubilee Hospital in stable condition.

A dog was seen being taken from a property and police remained at the scene until about 6:30pm.

Police said the Child Protection Investigation Unit had been notified.
