Horizon Zero Dawn remaster leaked for PS5, PC

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered has not yet been officially announced by Sony or Guerrilla Games, but the project would be consistent with previous remasters of PS4 games (Marvel’s Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part 2). The remaster’s existence was first reported in 2022. Polygon has reached out to Sony for comment on the remaster and will provide an update when the company responds.

The original Horizon Zero Dawn is playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility. The game is also available on PC, thanks to the 2020 release of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete EditionIt is not yet clear what the Remastered version of Guerrilla Games’ open-world action-adventure game will be coming to the Horizon Zero Dawn experience.

But the PS5 version would likely benefit from the recently announced PlayStation 5 Pro, due out in November. The PS5 Pro will run games at smoother framerates, higher screen resolutions, and with better ray tracing than the base PS5, Sony says.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a “post-post-post-apocalyptic” adventure starring heroine Aloy, a talented young huntress of mechanical beasts cast out from her tribe and desperately searching for answers about where she came from. In our 2017 review of the original game, we praised Guerrilla’s work as “a legendary developer finally finding its voice.” Guerrilla Games went on to release a sequel, Horizon Forbidden Westin 2022.

The story of Horizon Zero Dawn will also be reimagined in another game, Lego Horizon Adventuresa comedic and more kid-friendly take on the original game with a Lego-like aesthetic.
