Tim Bannister, of Rightmove, said: ‘Current market conditions will suit more down-to-earth movers, who may have been put off by the frenetic market conditions of this time last year, when the average time to find a buyer was near an all-time low.

“Despite what will feel like calmer conditions, the market is still moving faster than before the pandemic started.

“These latest data reflect current buyer behavior, with more buyers returning to cities and commuting distance from an office and the speed of the coastal market, which had seen some of its most frenetic levels of activity during the pandemic.”
