Honkai: Star Rail warp banners explained

Honkai: Starrail is a turn-based role-playing game with a gacha system for characters and weapons. As with Hoyoverse’s other titles, Honkai impact 3rd And Genshin effectyou can pull – or “warp”, in the language of the gamecharacters and cones of light, Honkai: Starrail‘s version of weapons, through the event and standard banners.

The Honkai: Starrail banners are very similar to Hoyoverse’s other titles, but there are a few notable changes. Read on to find out how Honkai: Starrail‘s warp banners work and what to expect when you pull each banner.

How Warp Banners Work in Honkai: Star Rail

The warp banners are similar to other Hoyoverse titles such as Honkai impact 3rd And Genshin effect, but there are minor differences. In Honkai: Starrailyou need to convert 160 Stellar Jadesthe premium currency you earn from chests and missions, in one Star Rail passa ticket that rolled on the standard gacha banner, or a Special Star Rail passa ticket that rolled on the gacha banner of the event, roll once.

You can also use 1600 Stellar Jades to make 10 Star Rail Passes or Star Rail Special Passes and roll 10 at a time. Oneiric shardspremium currency purchased with real money can be converted into Stellar Jades at a 1:1 rate to roll more too. Keep in mind that you don’t have to spend money to be successful in Honkai: Starrail. It is quite possible to erase all content with free characters. Warp banners for limited character events

Limited character event banners allow you to draw for a specific character. The gacha rates for warp banners for limited character events are as follows:

  • 0.6% chance of receiving a five-star character
  • 5.1% chance of receiving a four-star character or Light Cone
  • pull 90 to ensure five-star character

The first time you receive a five star from the banner there is a 50% chance that it is the promotional five star character. If the five-star character you receive is not the character listed, you’re guaranteed to get the character the next time you warp a five star.

Like five-star characters, four-star characters also have a guarantee: every 10 warps. If you don’t receive any of the promotional 4-star entities in your 10 warps, you’re guaranteed to receive one within the next 10 draws.

Regular Warp Banners

The regular warp banner, Stellar Warp, has the following probabilities:

  • 0.6% chance of receiving a five-star character or Light Cone
  • 5.1% chance of receiving a four-star character or Light Cone
  • pull 90 to ensure a five star character or Light Cone

See the table below for a list of entities you can receive.

Stellar Warp characters and light cones

Characters Light Cones
Characters Light Cones
Bailu But the battle is not over yet
Bronya In the name of the world
Klara Moment of victory
Pard Night on the Milky Way
Himeko Sleep like the dead
Welt Something irreplaceable
Yanqing Time waits for no one

However, the pool of entities in the regular warp banner may change as Hoyoverse added characters to regular banners in their other titles, such as Tighnari and Dehya being added to the default banner in Genshin effect.

After 300 warps on the regular warp banner you can choose one of the five star characters from the Stellar Warp. Choose wisely though, as you can only do this once!

Light Cone Warp Banners

Light Cone warp banners are also limited event banners with higher success rates for limited five and four star Light Cones instead of characters. The Light Cone warp banners work the same way as the other banners, except for the gacha rates and pity count. The gacha rates and number of pity are as follows:

  • 0.8% chance of receiving a five-star Light Cone
  • 6.6% chance of receiving a four-star cone of light
  • 80 draw to ensure a five-star Light Cone

If you do not receive the promotional Light Cone, you are guaranteed to get one within the next 80 pulls.

Is there a soft pity in Honkai: Star Rail?

It is believed that Honkai: Starrail has a soft pity system – a hidden mechanism that increases your chance of getting a five star at each warp after a certain number of draws – similar to Genshin effect. According to Reddit users, the gentle pity for you will begin 75th pull on character warp banners and your 65th pull on Light Cone warp banners. The soft pity system increases the chance of receiving a five-star character or Light Cone by 6% on each draw after that draw.
