Honkai: Star Rail Simulated Universe guide

Simulated universe is Herta’s invention that sends you into a maze of combat scenarios Honkai: Starrail. You get rewards for participating, whatever reset every week on Monday.

The easiest comparison we can make is Simulated Universe is a simplified version of Honkai impact 3rd‘s Elysium Realm, a roguelite mode where you have to choose paths and buffs.

There are six World’s to clear, which you unlock as you progress through the story and defeat the world that came before it.

How to get rewards in Simulated Universe

Simulated Universe is a prime place to get Flat sphere And Link Rope relics, as you will find them as rewards from defeating bosses and elite monsters. We started getting these relics as rewards during our runs of World 3.

The gist of it is explained in the game as you find more things (Herta is pretty good at explaining things step by step). However, if you skipped all of her dialogue, here’s a gameplay walkthrough:

  • Every room you enter has enemies or an event. Some rooms may have both.
  • Each time you defeat an enemy, you can select one of three buffs that will appear. These buffs only last in that run of the world. The buffs can be upgraded with in-universe currency.

  • Events can give you buffs, in-universe currency, or other rewards. Not all events are useful.
  • You will also sometimes find Curios, which are buffs that are permanent in Simulated Universe.
  • Once you’ve cleared the room of events or enemies, you can go through a door to a new room. Sometimes there are several doors, so you can choose where to go.
  • You’ll get a heads up about what’s in store for you in the next rooms, as the doors will be labeled “combat” (enemy), “elite” (tougher enemies), “boss” or “event” (event).

  • You cannot heal with food in the simulated universe.
  • As you progress through Simulated Universe, you gain skill points that you can put into a skill tree that only applies within the universe.
  • If your group dies in Simulated Universe, you’ll have to start that world over.

You’ll essentially want to make sure you run Simulated Universe every week to get Stellar Jade and decent rewards. Choose buffs that suit your group and defeat as many enemies as possible. (For example, if you don’t have a character that can freeze enemies, you probably shouldn’t choose buffs that deal more damage to frozen characters.)

Of course, tougher and higher enemies may require more power to defeat, as you won’t be able to easily swipe through a level 50 boss once you’re only level 30. Don’t worry if you can’t beat the entire Simulated Universe at once; you shouldn’t be able to.
