Honda has unveiled its new mid-sized SUV, which rivals Toyota’s popular RAV4.
The all-new CR-V hits the road later this year with four trim levels available, including a premium e:HEV hybrid version.
Most of the range will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a lighter CVT automatic transmission, while the e:HEV will have a two-litre petrol engine and a two-motor hybrid system.
The new CR-V will be available in five- and seven-seat layouts and with front or all-wheel drive.

Honda has not yet released power or fuel consumption figures for its new SUV, but in smaller cars the turbo engine generated 131 kW/240 Nm while the hybrid generated 135 kW/315 Nm.
The CR-V will be available in six colors: Platinum White, Lunar Silver, Meteoroid Grey, Ignite Red, Crystal Black and the new Canyon River Blue.
Honda Australia boss Carolyn McMahon noted that the popular hybrid option is driving more customers to choose a CR-V.
“Honda Australia is extremely excited to launch the all-new CR-V to the Australian market as this nameplate has been a consumer favorite since its introduction to the Australian market 26 years ago,” she said.
“Evolved with family needs, this next-generation CR-V offers everything our customers love about the outgoing model and more, including more cabin space, five and seven seats, 2WD and AWD drive systems and compelling driveability across the range.” .
Pricing for the new CR-V (above), launching September 1, starts at $44,500 at drive-off
However, the range of upgrades comes with a higher price tag.
