Homeworld 3 postponed until May 13 after receiving the public demo

On February 5, developers Blackbird Interactive released a public demo for Homeworld 3 on Steam and the Epic games store, which showcases the roguelike War Games mode. While we enjoyed the vertical portion of the game, it still brought with it a number of issues that made us wonder if Blackbird Interactive would have time to fix them before launch.

Fortunately, in a clear commitment to delivering the best possible version of the latest installment in the legendary sci-fi RTS franchise, Blackbird Interactive has made the decision to postpone the launch of Homeworld 3 until May 13. That’s about an additional four weeks from the previous launch date of March 8.

According to the statement issued by Blackbird Interactivethe decision to delay the launch was made following feedback from external playtests in addition to the reception of the public demo.

It’s certainly frustrating to watch Homeworld 3 will be delayed again, especially considering the launch was initially planned for the first half of 2023. As a long-standing fan of the Homeworld franchise, I’m glad the developers are taking the necessary steps to address these issues.
