Homework co-worker Suzie Cheikho who was fired after her boss tracked her keystrokes, reveals a stunning list of demands for any new employer on the Kyle and Jackie O show
- Suzie Cheikho’s bosses kept track of how much she was typing
- The former IAG employee was denied her wrongful dismissal claim
- She now demands that future employers give her “$100,000” salary
A work-from-home employee who was fired for slacking off after her boss tracked her computer keystrokes has revealed a list of demands for potential employers.
Suzie Cheikho told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that she feared she was unemployed after being fired from her position at Insurance Australia Group (IAG), where she had worked for 18 years, for “not typing enough”.
Her resignation sparked debate this week over workers’ rights and the use of tracking software after the Fair Work Commission rejected her unfair dismissal application in July.
But now appearing on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show, she’s delivered a staggering array of job demands, including a six-figure salary and a company car – with working from home “ideal.”
The radio hosts tried to find Ms. Cheikho a new job by making her list facts about herself and her job requirements to potential employers who listened on the phone.

“I expect a salary of more than $100,000,” the Sydneysider announced, prompting a dental clinic boss to hang up.
“I have to take care of my cats, so working from home is ideal,” she outlined as her next demand, as two more bosses backed off.
‘A company laptop and phone is a must; a company car would also be ideal,” she added.
Ms Cheikho also told potential employers that she once took three months’ leave in a year – but was “justifiably so” as she was dealing with the loss of her father and the breakdown of her marriage.
“If there’s a little bit of eye candy at work, it would be a bonus,” she told employers as a final fact.
Despite her list of demands, Ms. Cheikho has landed an interview with a courier company, which will take place on Kyle and Jackie O’s show next week.
Before her resignation, Ms. Cheikho was part of the outbound communications team at IAG and – although the company had a hybrid work approach – she worked from home on a “near permanent basis”, the Fair Work Commission found.
In the published reasons for her dismissal, IAG stated that Ms Cheikho did not “work as required” from October to December 2022.

Ms Cheikho (pictured) had her unfair dismissal application rejected by the Fair Work Commission after it emerged that her former employer had dismissed her for ‘valid cause for misconduct’
The insurance group claimed there were “significant periods of no or minimal keyboard activity” while Ms. Cheikho worked from home, so she didn’t actually work her contractual 7.8 hours over 44 of the 49 working days.
The company knew this because it revealed it had tracked the employee’s laptop and recorded her computer strokes.
IAG further claimed that Ms. Cheikho’s failure to work “during her established working hours” and her “missing deadlines and ineffective communication” put additional pressure on her colleagues.
A labor tribunal has since ruled in IAG’s favour, finding that the company had “valid cause” for firing Ms Cheikho.
Ms Cheikho told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that she was embarrassed after her story went viral. She is now surviving thanks to government grants and received her first Centrelink payment this month
“No one is going to hire me,” she said.
“In the 18 years I’ve worked there, I’ve only received one warning.”
