  • Thomas Lyons shared a video of people being sprayed with water on his TikTok
  • Some people called it “petty” while others said it’s a “great idea.”

People are divided on a man’s method of keeping people from walking through his front yard.

Thomas Lyons, who goes by tgunz81 on TikTok, posted footage from his home security camera showing people crossing his land at all hours of the day.

In an effort to deter people from doing this, the owner installed a sprinkler outside his house.

But social media users labeled the fix as “mean,” while others praised it, saying the instillation is “absolute genius.”

And the viral video has garnered over 9.3 million likes and over 109,000 shares.

Social media users have labeled the fix as

The video shows unsuspecting people walking across the large lawn in front of his house, completely unaware of what is to come

In the video, captioned “#funny,” people can be seen walking across the large lawn in front of his house, completely unaware of what’s to come.

Moments later, they are hit by a fast jet of water coming out of the sprinkler, as it moves from side to side.

And the result is that many damp and panicked strangers are sent back onto the public footpath.

In the TikTok video, Mr. Lyons explains why he set up the snake.

He wrote, “If people won’t stop mowing your lawn, put on an automatic sprinkler.”

However, viewers on the social media site are divided on whether his method is too harsh a punishment.

One person who supported the surprise sprinkler commented, “People say put up a fence…..why would anyone spend money on something they don’t need, people should respect other people’s property.”

While another said: ‘I think this is absolutely brilliant!! why on earth would ANYONE think it appropriate to enter your country?!? Well done sir.’

Another agreed, adding, “This is a great idea!! I’ve always been taught it’s rude to walk on someone [sic] lawn.’

A fourth person said: ‘My mother raised me well, with respect for other people’s property. I salute you for your great idea.’

Others, however, remained totally divided on the method as they sprinkled it as “mean,” but also added, “do it again.”

Meanwhile, some users were completely against the method as a whole.

One person wrote, “Wow! People are really petty.’

And a second person said, “If you care so much about your property line, put up a fence.”

And a third, simply put: “The water bill.”

While another had a completely different idea and wrote: ‘Imagine that one person doesn’t care and just keeps walking.’
