- Tudor house lover Fabiola posted a video showing the transformation
A homeowner has been slammed by critics for converting a Tudor-style mansion into a modern new-build home.
Tudor house enthusiast Fabiola posted a video showing the transformation on her Instagram account @littletudordiary.
The video, which appears to have been posted by a construction company, shows how the homeowner wanted the property to have the style of a French country house.
The builders removed the wooden facade and replaced it with a sleek, gray finish with dark gray frames.
They added that the client had also requested the brickwork be painted white and new garage doors and gutters would be installed, which would be a drastic change of style.

Tudor home enthusiast Fabiola posted a video showing the transformation on their Instagram account @littletudordiary. They said they were asked by a client to renovate the house
While the homeowner was pleased with the renovation, critics on Instagram were fiercely negative.
One commenter wrote: ‘I hate it. Since when is ‘stripping out all the details and painting everything white’ French countryside? What kind of design school did you go to?’
Fabiola captioned the post: ‘I understand it may not be old Tudor style but unfortunately it is not a French country house anymore as I think that style has a stone and earth façade and those French shutters.
‘That’s why it’s not only [is it not Tudor] but it is not a French country house. Correct me if I am wrong.
‘I deliberately masked the design company, [at the end of the day] ‘It is always the wish of the customer and his home.’

Other Instagram users were far from happy with the outcome and were furious: “This should be a crime.”
Another said, ‘Why buy a Tudor house if you don’t want a Tudor house?’
Someone wrote: ‘Oops, what a downgrade.’
Another added: ‘French country? Really? Which part? Oslo? Stuttgart? Pittsburgh?’
One of them was furious: ‘Yes. A complete mess. Architecture.’
