Homebuyers were amazed by the master bedroom with an open toilet in Manyana, NSW

Homebuyers were amazed by a bizarre feature in this three-bedroom ocean view home: “So disgusting!”

  • A house on the south coast of NSW had a bizarre detail
  • It included a toilet and bath next to the main bed

Potential homebuyers are mystified by a strange detail in a suburban home that sees a toilet, bath and shower in the master bedroom.

The property in the town of Manyana on the NSW South Coast has been described as the ‘ideal family home or holiday retreat’.

The fashionable two-story home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lockable garages, an open plan living area and a newly renovated interior.

It is located on a lush plot of land of 556 m2 with a beautiful view of the ocean.

But it’s the view from the master bedroom that has become the main talking point.

A bizarre detail in a suburban house: a toilet, bathtub, shower and sink just a few steps from the foot of the master bed

The room contains a toilet, bath, shower and sink just a few steps from the foot of the bed without any wall to separate the two areas.

The toilet is positioned so that it directly overlooks where the next owners will sleep.

From the bedroom to the open bathroom, the floor changes from carpet to tiles.

Writer and editor Amber Robinson first shared a photo of the room on Twitter, writing, “When did we start integrating toilets into bedrooms.”

‘There are already 3 other toilets in the house! No reason to need one in the bedroom too,” she added.

Other Twitter users also expressed surprise and horror at the details.

‘So dirty! Toilet sprays where you sleep, plus sharing EVERYTHING with your significant other. And wake them up to flush,” said one user.

Another commented: ‘The floor plan says ensuite. No. That’s a bed in a bathroom. Bah.’

‘I can’t even handle my own toilets. Do not place a toilet near a sleeping place. We don’t even do that while camping,” a third added.

However, some people suggested that the design was a good idea to help people with mobility issues or disabilities.

The detail was included in this house in Manyana on the NSW south coast, which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two enclosed garages, a newly renovated interior and beautiful ocean views.

Estate agent Brendan Shipp told news.com.au that the previous owners decided to open up the space in the master bedroom by dropping the previous room divider

Real estate agent Brendan Shipp of McGrath said the home’s previous owners decided to demolish the wall that split the ensuite with the sleeping area.

“The sellers wanted to open up the master bedroom and let it flow more freely to get extra light,” he said news.com.au

“It’s not normal, but it is [also] not a negative thing, it’s a point of difference.

He added that the design choice was something he had only seen in one property before.

Despite the unusual details, at least six parties have made inquiries about the house.

The property will be auctioned on April 12.
