Home chef shares her simple tip to take even the most basic salad to the next level: ‘That’s how it stands out differently’

  • Sydney foodie Ayeh Manfre said you should chop up salad ingredients
  • This means you get a little bit of everything in every bite; then eat it with a spoon

A home cook and foodie has shared her simple trick for taking even the most basic salad to the next level, and it has nothing to do with the ingredients.

Ayeh Manfre, who cooks online with Ayeh, posted a video on TikTokwhere she said the best way to improve your salads is to chop everything you put in them really small.

This means you can use a spoon to eat them and enjoy a little bit of each flavor with each bite.

“Here’s a tip to make any salad taste better,” Ayeh captioned the video.

“The key is you need a spoon, because salads with a spoon always hit the spot a little differently.”

She added, “This is because you taste a little bit of everything in every bite.”

Ayeh prepared a Greek salad with tomato, cucumber, red pepper and red onion ‘all cut into small cubes’ for this occasion.

One of her other top tips is to soak the onion in water, which helps get rid of that “hard onion taste.”

Ayeh said her Greek salad also included “juicy Kalamata olives,” which she chopped, as well as crumbled feta and a homemade dressing.

To make the dressing, Ayeh combined olive oil, vinegar and oregano.

Simply serve with a piece of crispy sourdough bread.
