Home and Away veteran Lynne McGranger sparks concern as she shares photos of shock injuries
Lynne McGranger caused a stir after sharing photos of her bloody injuries.
The Home and Away veteran posted the photos to Instagram on Tuesday, but thankfully it turned out to be all special makeup effects.
The 71-year-old was busy on set, filming a scene for the soap in which her character, Irene, lay in a hospital bed.
The cut on her forehead, which was stitched, was made by Home and Away make-up artist Hilary Middlebrook.
She captioned the photos ‘Irene’s drunken fall’ and Lynne was quick to respond in the comments.
“Very impressed Hils, you smart girl. Miss you,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time Lynne has caused concern after sharing a photo of herself looking injured. But last time it was real.
Last year she posted a photo showing abrasions on her nose, right cheek and chin after a nasty fall.

Lynne’s famous friends were shocked by the shocking photo.
“Oh my gosh Lynnie! Sending you love – I was hoping that was makeup you saw on set,” wrote her co-star Sarah Roberts.
“Damn, that looks pretty badass! Hope you’re doing well Lynne,” added fellow Summer Bay veteran Ethan Browne.
Other prominent figures also contributed.
“Oh take care x,” said TV presenter Myf Warhurst, while My Kitchen Rules star Blake Proud wrote: “OMG. We hope you’re doing well!”
Meanwhile, her son-in-law’s mother was quick to cover up any wrongdoing.
“And I promise I didn’t trip her or push her. Poor darling, it wasn’t a pretty sight,” she wrote.
Lynne also shared another photo on Instagram before her accident, showing the veteran actor laughing with her son-in-law’s mother and a black dog on her lap.

Along with the photos, the soap star explained what happened.
“One minute of walking with your daughter and son-in-law’s dog and your MOG (mother of the groom) neck minit, and you’re facing the road,” she wrote.
Lynne has played the role of Irene Roberts on Home and Away since 1993, after taking over the role from actress Jacquy Phillips.
The veteran actress is one of the Australian soap’s longest-serving stars.
In 2021, Lynne published her memoir Acting Up: Me, Myself And Irene, in which she detailed her struggles with drugs and an eating disorder.
