Home and Away star Sophie Dillman hated wearing a bikini every day on the Australian soap and cried the first time she saw herself in a bathing suit
Former Home and Away cast member Sophie Dillman has revealed that she hated wearing bikinis on set.
The soap star, 30, opened up about the struggles she experienced donning the skimpy swimsuit in a column for Yahoo lifestyle on Monday and said she “hated” wearing bikinis every day.
Sophie reports that one of the most frequently asked questions about her time on Home and Away is how she filmed every day in a bikini.
Dillman, who played Ziggy Astoni on the long-running Aussie soap opera working conditions on set were quite simple, explaining that putting on a swimsuit is just like any other form of costume, but says it had its challenges.
“I knew I wasn’t a size 8 and I knew that would be a talking point for the public,” she continued.

“My first day coming out of the surf there were fans, crew, paparazzi, fellow actors and soon thousands of people were watching me waddling through Palm Beach trying to act cool but I was dying inside,” she added please.
Although she was advised by the crew not to google her name to see candid photos or read articles about herself, she said she couldn’t resist the temptation.
“I found those pictures and cried for days,” she confessed.
In 2021, Dillman told Who magazine that she “doesn’t believe in dieting” and likes to indulge in moderation when it comes to food.
“Life is too short not to enjoy it. If you want a cookie, just eat a cookie,” she said.

The actress explained that when gyms closed during the lockdown, she started working out with fitness trainer Kate Ivey through her DediKate app.
“There are some great 20-minute high-intensity workouts that fit well into a busy person’s lifestyle. I also took boxing lessons online, walked my dog and even went swimming in the ocean,” she said.
Meanwhile, when it comes to food, Sophie explained that she can’t eat much gluten or dairy because it causes a lot of pain from her endometriosis.
“I like to eat a rainbow of foods and things that make me feel good. If I don’t eat enough I get hangry and (my boyfriend) knows to stay away! So I try to have some healthy snacks on hand to get me through those slumps.”
Sophie hired a team of specialists to help her manage her condition, including a gynaecologist, a physiotherapist and a naturopath.
Sophie and boyfriend Patrick O’Connor, 30 (who co-starred as Dean Thompson in Home and Away), both left the hit TV show earlier this year to tour Europe together.
And they plan to stay on the other side of the world, with Sophie hoping to start a theater career in the UK.
