Home and Away star James Stewart shows off his incredible 12kg weight loss transformation

James Stewart has shown his dramatic physical transformation after losing 12 kg.

The Home and Away star, 47, shared Instagram photos on Monday of himself looking absolutely ripped, alongside a ‘before’ photo of him looking wider in a baggy white T-shirt.

The “after” photos showed James beaming with pride as he flexed his abs as he posed shirtless in a gym after a workout session.

In his caption, he talked about his weight loss journey, explaining that he was having trouble physically “keeping up” with his 10-year-old daughter, Scout, who he shares with his actress ex-girlfriend Jessica Marais.

‘I was 100 kg.. now I am 88 kg. I was slow…wearing baggy shirts and not feeling well,” the actor admitted.

“What hit me the most is that I couldn’t keep up with my child… now she’s struggling to keep up with me! Haha!’

James, who plays Justin Morgan in the Channel Seven soap opera, also shared some advice for anyone trying to “get in shape” – revealing that progression wasn’t as easy as it sounds.

“To anyone trying to get in shape, I’m not gunna sugar coat it…instead of beer and burgers, grab a protein shake and a salad…then just lace up your trainers and get working out!” he said.

“Sounds simple… but it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I’ve done it twice. Once with the best trainers ever and this time without… and as fit as I am physically, my mental fitness is my favorite asset.”

‘I feel good about myself. A better man, a better husband, a better father,” his post concluded.

Friends and fans praised the star for his hard work and dedication.

James’ post comes after his wife and Home and Away co-star Sarah Roberts had to put a stop to rumors that the couple had broken up.

In January, the pair posted sweetheart photos that confirmed they were still very much together, after weeks of speculation that their marriage was on the rocks.

Roberts responded under the post, “Can’t lose Jimmy; he follows me everywhere in real life.”

Reports of the breakup surfaced after Stewart, who married Roberts in 2019, was absent from the Melbourne premiere of her latest film Wog Boys Forever in October.

According to The Daily Telegraph, he was “nowhere to be seen on the red carpet” and apparently no longer followed his wife’s Instagram account.

However, Roberts’ agent denied that they had broken up.

Roberts starred in Home and Away from 2017 to 2021 before she walked away to focus on her film career.

Stewart still stars in the Australian soap opera, where he plays Justin Morgan.

He was previously engaged to his Packed to the Rafters co-star Marias until they broke up in 2015.

James met Jessica (pictured) on the set of Packed to the Rafters in 2009. They got engaged in October 2010, welcomed Scout in May 2012 and split in 2015
