Sophie Dillman plays a new mother in Home and Away.

Sophie has played Ziggy Astoni on Home and Away since 2017, and her real-life boyfriend Patrick O’Connor plays her on-screen partner Dean Thompson.

‘They [the children] they were very well behaved and working with babies is great because you can’t control what they are going to do,’ she said.

“I felt like the performance was great, because it was so real to have a baby crying or laughing or grabbing you… it means you’re really in the moment.”

Sophie added that she would love to have children with Patrick one day, and working with babies on the show had only strengthened that desire.

“Every time a baby would come on set, we’d go, ‘Oh, you’re the cutest!’ and then the next one would come and we’d say, ‘No, you’re the cutest!'” she laughed.

Sophie’s character will soon be at the center of an emotionally charged story.

While Dean and Ziggy recently became new parents, it looks like tough times are ahead for the young couple.

A trailer released last month hints that Ziggy may find it difficult to adjust to motherhood and could even suffer from postpartum depression.
