He’s a Hollywood tough guy who used to get oiled up in raunchy music videos and plays for a football team owned by a Sex Pistols star – can YOU guess who he is?

He is one of the world’s most recognizable action stars and is known for his tough leading roles.

But the actor, now 56, looks unrecognizable in two racy video clips from the 1990s, in which he is spotted half-naked, wearing a speedo and dancing.

Most of his fans don’t know that he starred in The Shamen’s Comin’ On and Erasure’s Run to the Sun before conquering Hollywood.

Astute social media users discovered the hilarious clips way back in 2015 and they quickly went viral as people couldn’t believe the actor’s unusual career choice in the past.

The actor also took a stab at playing for American football club Hollywood United FC, a Los Angeles football club founded by Sex Pistol guitarist Steve Jones – but can you guess who he is?

The actor and fighter seems far removed from his tough image, which he is now mainly known for his tough roles in successful action films.

The industry is hard to break into, so before the glitz and glamor it’s no surprise that Jason tried a few other options besides acting.

Clips of the Hollywood star wearing leopard-print panties and dancing along to dance music have surfaced countless times over the years, bringing a laugh to viewers.

But beyond his music video debut, the star almost chose a completely different career direction.

It wasn’t until 1998 that he would make his acting debut in the aforementioned Guy Ritchie project Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

The Death Race star represented England, but was actually a professional diver.

It was an admirable effort from the star who actually performed at three different events.

Statham credited his sporting career as one of the reasons he was so successful on the big screen, telling the BBC in 2008: “I think what I haven’t achieved is what I haven’t achieved.” [in sports] has helped me to focus better and take my acting career more seriously.’

While many may not be aware of Statham’s past as a diver, his interest in the sport may be less surprising.

The Derbyshire-born star, who appears in many of his films, practices martial arts such as kickboxing and karate.

Despite starring in many hits during his acting career, including The Expendables, Transformers and the Fast & Furious franchise, one sore point has remained: his failure to make it to the Olympics.

“It’s a bit of a sore point that I never went to the Olympics,” said Jason Statham at one of his film premieres after Jack Laugher and Chris Mears became the first Britons to win an Olympic gold medal in diving at Rio 2016.

‘They deserve it. The divers are just great right now,” Statham added. ‘I started too late. It probably wasn’t my thing. I should have done another sport.’

The actor continues to have a passion for sports and plays football for Hollywood United FC. Robbie Williams and Gordon Ramsay would also do this.
