The Gladiator star, who currently splits his time between his Nana Glen farm in Australia and his Sydney apartment, explained that his American friends often ask him why he hasn’t returned to the United States after the pandemic.

“My American friends say ‘what’s going on?'” he said during an interview on 2Day FM’s breakfast show Hughesy, Ed & Erin on Monday.

But after his last film in the United States, the thriller Unhinged, came the pandemic.
The Oscar winner said his schedule over the past four years has not given him time to return to the United States.

“I haven’t been back since for a press tour,” he explained. ‘I’ve been able to discuss a way to make the most of the press sitting here on the phone on the farm.’
Over the past four years, Crowe has made films in Thailand, Malta, England, Ireland and Australia.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Gladiator star announced that he will start filming a new Sleeping Dogs movie in Melbourne in February.

The thriller, based on the novel The Book of Mirrors by EO Chirovici, will reunite Crowe with his Gladiator co-star Tommy Flanagan.
The Beautiful Mind star teased another upcoming project in the chat, but didn’t reveal any details.
“Later in the year I’m going to Budapest,” he said, explaining that the story of the unnamed film “confirms the events right at the end of World War II.”
“It’s a huge challenge to play the part, it’s going to be amazing.”

Crowe went on to reveal that his band’s upcoming performances next week at Coffs Harbor will include special guest artists, including a chart-topping female star and an award-winning male artist.
