Who is he? This Emmy-nominated Hollywood actor can transform into almost anyone, and now he’s impersonating Charles on the eve of his coronation. He got his start on Saturday Night Live and then turned that fame into a movie career. Can you guess who he is?

He is 67-year-old Dana Carvey.

In honor of the upcoming coronation of King Charles III, PetSmart and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort teamed up to create a video featuring Carvey.

Dana has reprized his memorable impersonation of SNL’s King Charles III.

He encouraged viewers to adopt a dog through PetSmart Charities.

Before the coronation, Carvey’s King Charles makes the connection between his name and that of the beloved family dog breed, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel.

He asks viewers not to buy a King Charles spaniel on the day of the coronation and to adopt a shelter dog instead.

“Now be a good dog, Daddy has to go to work,” he begins in the video.

“Coronation Day is upon us and as your new king – or as your beloved actor impersonating your king – I issue the following decree: Let’s not all run out and buy a bunch of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, okay ?’

He reminds onlookers what happened when everyone adopted Dalmatians when 101 Dalmatians came out.

They were adopted and returned after they were no longer a nice idea.

“Can’t we please do that again with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels?” he asks.

Carvey then encourages people to adopt shelter dogs through PetSmart charities instead.

“Shelter dogs are incredibly loving dogs and will treat you like royalty!” Then a scruffy mutt named Linus jumped into his lap.

He then ends with: ‘Dog save the king!’

PetSmart’s Instagram read, “While the king is being crowned, we know that shelter pets deserve the royal treatment too. Bring home the next king or queen of your castle, or donate to help homeless pets discover their own throne. Make a difference today.’
