Power couple: François-Henri Pinault is married to actress Salma Hayek
One of Hollywood’s biggest talent agencies is in talks to sell a controlling stake to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault – as actors strike over writers’ wages.
The Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is in talks with Pinault, who runs luxury fashion giant Kering and is married to actress Salma Hayek, over a deal that values CAA at £5.3 billion.
Private equity-owned CAA is the most powerful entertainment agency, with clients including Tom Hanks, Zendaya and Steven Spielberg.
Kering owns brands such as Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Bottega Veneta.
According to reports, no final decisions have been made yet. Actors went on strike this week, along with film and TV writers who have been campaigning since May.
