Hollyoaks SPOILER: Jamie Lomas’ tragic final scenes revealed as character Warren Fox says goodbye to lover Mercedes McQueen in dramatic death twist

Jamie Lomas has been spotted filming his final dramatic Hollyoaks scenes, which see his character Warren Fox meet a bloody end.

Warren, who first appeared in the village in 2006, looked in bad shape as he staggered along the edge of a wood.

The villain was seen clutching his wounds after an attack, while his on-again, off-again relationship Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) ran to his side and helped him.

Pregnant Mercedes was seen holding injured Jamie as they staggered to a van together, trying to hold back tears.

The emotional couple shared a passionate kiss as they shared one last moment together. Jamie then handed Mercedes a bag of money and climbed into the back of a van.

Mercedes, who is carrying Warren’s child, looked distraught as she held the bag and screamed in fear.

As the villager faced his end, he was found dead in the backseat of a car, covered in blood, clutching his wounds. It was a dramatic scene.

It is suspected that Warren will be stabbed, but it is not clear by whom or how the scuffle started.

But it is true that he has made many enemies in the village, and recently he was even shot by one of them.

Jamie confirmed earlier this year that he was leaving Hollyoaks, which earned him a lot of fans. He later concluded that he was quitting after it was announced that the series would be airing fewer episodes, with the series now airing just three episodes a week.

Jamie quickly made the facts clear by confirming that the departure had been in the planning for some time.

Earlier this year it was reported that due to budget cuts Channel 4 was making a number of changes, including fewer episodes per week, all in a shorter space of time. With the changes came the sad news that jobs would be cut and the cast and crew would be made redundant.

A number of fan favourites have left the soap, including Stephanie Waring, Ross Adams and Emma Rigby.

Other departing players include Owen Warner, Jamelia and Theo Graham who have also left in recent months.

The soap has planned a dramatic time jump of a year into the future to explain some of the exits, after reports that as many as 20 characters would be leaving the village.

It’s also been hinted that a major stunt will air before the time jump and before the new era of the series begins.

Earlier this year, Hollyoaks boss Hannah Cheers said of the changes: “When we started talking about moving to three episodes a week, we realised we needed a mechanism to transition our stories and characters and we kept coming back to this one. It’s bold, daring and a first for a British soap; it sums up Hollyoaks perfectly.

‘The new three-episode pattern gives us a different model of storytelling, meaning we’ll see characters on screen for much longer.

“Our audiences are really smart; to serve them well, we need to launch this new structure in a meaningful way. By permanently fast-forwarding the show a year, we get unlimited story possibilities.

‘It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to some much-loved Hollyoaks villagers, and some even sooner than we expected.

“It’s not good for our characters or our audience to have a long series of goodbyes on screen and an over-the-top stunt didn’t seem like the right approach either.

“We also wanted to have the flexibility to revisit favorite characters and we were really excited about how that would play out.”
