Owen was in a relationship with his co-star Stephanie Davis between 2018 and 2019 and was later linked with Chloe Ferry and The Apprentice runner-up Camilla Ainsworth.

According to The sunChris said: ‘I have absolutely no idea what my family and friends would think if I did a show like I’m A Celebrity.

‘I never asked them. But I think they’d be a lot more nervous if I did the Antiques Roadshow. It should be fun, fingers crossed anyway.

When asked if he was afraid of jungle critters and snakes, he replied, ‘There’s all kinds of things in this country, like sports and beer, and I’m not afraid of sports or beer. So I think it’ll be fine.’

Other stars who have signed up for the adventure include 80s pop icon Boy George and comedian Seann Walsh.

A source previously told The Sun: “Chris is a huge asset to I’m A Celebrity and they’ve been trying to sign him for years.

“Before, he’s turned them down for a number of reasons, but this year feels like the right time.

Chris has signed up and is preparing mentally and physically to go Down Under. This is a huge moment for him and he can’t wait to linger in it.

“Fans of the show will be in for a real treat and Chris has no doubt that there will be people who will ring the bell to vote for him to do some of the grueling trials.”

MailOnline contacted a representative of Chris at the time for comment.

Trendy: Radio host Chris, 48, who was rumored to be a member of the lineup, kept it casual in a navy blue bomber jacket and jeans and a black baseball cap

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said they wanted to see Chris as a campmate in 2012.

Geordie Dec explained: “He would be really funny, he would probably win.

“And he’s lost so much weight, even the lack of food wouldn’t bother him.” Ant added: “The point is, they all say yes in the end. We just wear them out.’

Last year, Chris admitted that he would have a hard time on the show because of his crippling fear of heights.

He said he had no idea he was so scared until he took his girlfriend Tiffany Austin’s niece to Go Ape.

Radiant: Olivia did free makeup to show off her natural beauty and wore a striking crop top paired with sweatpants

Chris said on Radio X with Vernon Kay, ‘I just wouldn’t be good at I’m a Celeb because we had Tiff’s niece last week and we took her to Go Ape, you know the treetop adventure spot?

“I picked myself up and I realized I’m more afraid of heights than I actually thought I was, and I knew I was afraid of heights.”

He added: ‘This man was behind me with his daughter, he talked to me across all bridges: ‘It’ll be fine, you’ve got this, don’t worry’.

“Meanwhile, his daughter hangs on things with one arm.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Seann Walsh has signed up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The comedian, 36, was set to head Down Under for the new series – the first back in Australia since the coronavirus pandemic.

Here we go! It comes 10 years after hosts Ant and Dec (LR) first said they’d love to have him on the show (pictured in 2020)

According to The Sun, ITV bosses are hoping Seann will discuss his infamous 2018 love affair with his Strictly pro partner Katya Jones, who was married to fellow dancer Neil Jones at the time.

The brief affair resulted in the end of Katya’s marriage to Neil the following year and Seann broke up with his ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

It was also reported this week that Olivia Attwood will reportedly become the first-ever Love Island star to appear in I’m a Celebrity later this year.

According to reports, Seann and Olivia will join Babatunde Aleshe and Boy George in the jungle.

Ant and Dec welcome 12 new familiar faces to the Australian camp in November.

In a statement, ITV said: ‘Autumn also brings I’m A Celebrity, making a welcome return to ITV from the Australian jungle.’

In the 2021 series, Danny Miller was crowned King of the Castle, while Giovanna Fletcher was the first person to win the Welsh version of the show the year before.
