Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson teased whether Ste Hay and Brendan Brady could get back together after his former on-screen love interest recently returned to the set.
‘Stendan’ fans went wild after bad boy Emmett J Scanlan made a surprise appearance on set during filming for Ste and James Nightingale’s wedding in March.
The Irish actor, 44, who lives in Chester, happened to drop by when he was spotted by a make-up artist and was heading to the set to say hello to his former co-star.
The photo sent Hollyoaks fans swooning at the time, with many hoping the former pair could reunite 10 years after they were torn apart following Brendan’s jail term.
And with the hype still surrounding the fan-favorite couple, especially in the run-up to Ste’s impending nuptials to lawyer James (Gregory Finnegan), Kieron has dished up whether there’s a future for Stendan.

Speak against Metro.nlhe said, “It was great to see [Emmett]and of course I’d love to have a Stendan reunion, but I don’t think it will be any time soon, but who knows what the future holds?
While he didn’t confirm a reunion, 37-year-old Kieron didn’t rule it out entirely either, meaning there’s still hope for staunch Stendan supporters.
Meanwhile, Kieron opened up about what it was like to briefly have Emmett back on set, more than a decade since the dodgy character left.
He said, ‘Emmett actually lives in Chester and randomly walked by. One of our makeup artists saw him and said, “Your little Ste is getting married there,” so he came to say hi.
“There’s actually a scene where Ste is tied to a lamppost and a passerby takes pictures of him because he thinks it’s funny, and we thought, wouldn’t it be great if we actually had Emmett play the passerby?
“It would work because he looks so different at the moment – he’s on a different show and he has to shave his beard, so he looks a bit unrecognizable, really young actually.”
He continued, “It was so weird on the day because there were fans watching and crew members, so when we stood together I think people expected something to happen, but we were just catching up.”
It’s because in this week’s Hollyoaks episodes, the drama will reach a breaking point as Ste and James get married as Juliet grapples with a shocking revelation about her health.

James Nightingale will wear a rainbow tracksuit as he tied the knot with Ste Hay in a romantic ceremony.
But the wedding won’t be smooth sailing – as a newlywed-to-be faces doubts all week, while Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) wonders if she’ll make it to the day.
Kieron described the upcoming nuptials as “camp, meaningful and sad,” while hinting that a shocking incident would occur near the end.

However, throughout this week’s episodes, Juliet will struggle with news she receives from the hospital – as actress Niamh revealed that fans will see her “inner strength.”
