Holly Willoughby re-appears on This Morning after it was revealed she will return to present Dancing On Ice with Stephen Mulhern following two-month hiatus from TV

Holly Willoughby stunned This Morning fans on Thursday after returning to the show for an interview with Miriam Margolyes, albeit in a pre-recorded segment.

The 42-year-old presenter gave up her role as host of the daytime flagship in October after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder the mother-of-three resulted in the arrest of a man from Harlow, Essex.

But she was back on ITV1 for the first time since her resignation as This Morning aired a celebratory compilation of clips from the past 12 months.

In the hilarious clip, This Morning was thrown into chaos as guest Miriam spoke about 'steaming her vagina' and her sex life, while also swearing twice live on the show.

During the appearance to promote her latest memoir, Miriam said: “I'm grateful, I can't walk, I fart all the time, but I'm still going!”

Holly and Josie couldn't stop giggling as Miriam added: 'My friends say I haven't changed, but I've always been as mischievous and outgoing as I am now.

Speaking about her sex life, Miriam continued: “Sex is not for me now, it is not what it is in life, but I will give advice and talk about it.

“Bottoms are friendly when a man flies his… but you can touch the bottom.”

She added: “Daniel Radcliffe said I farted and that's true.”

Meanwhile, speaking about her Vogue cover from June this year, Miriam said: 'I thought it was a hoax that my agent wrote to them saying I would deal with the gay pride issue.

'I gladly accepted. Because I'm an older lesbian and they cheered me up. My partner doesn't want to read the book because she's in it, she's shy and she's a good 80 year old girl. She is my rock and I adore her and I am grateful that we are still together after fifty years.”

Harry Potter star Miriam is a regular on the ITV daytime show and has often turned the sky blue during comedic moments in the past.

Holly will return to live television after agreeing to host Dancing on Ice, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

After pondering for weeks whether to host the ITV skating show, she signed the deal at Christmas and is said to be 'excited' to get back to work on the show she co-hosted for many years with her former boyfriend Phillip Schofield presented.

Sources at ITV say the channel's bosses are 'delighted' that she will be joining Stephen Mulhern for the series, which starts on January 14, almost three months after learning of an alleged plot to kidnap and kill her by former guard Gavin Plumb.

An ITV insider told MailOnline: 'Holly is a star and everyone was hoping so much that she would decide to come back.

'After much discussion and much thought, she thought it would be a good thing to get some normalcy in her life.

'There are obvious concerns about live television, her main priority is her family, ITV has been extremely understanding and put no pressure on her at all.

After weeks of discussions over whether to host the ITV skating show, the presenter signed the deal at Christmas and is said to be 'excited' about returning to work on the show (pictured with Phillip Schofield in a still from the last series)

'They wanted to give her all the time she needed, but it was a difficult decision for her.

“Time was ticking, but the bosses tried to remain calm.”

Holly has always looked forward to January as it was her chance to dress up in fairytale dresses to host the show alongside her former This Morning co-star and friend Schofield, who she loved so much.

'As soon as Christmas was over, Holly got dizzy from Dancing On Ice,' says a friend of the star.

Last week, Holly enjoyed her first outing in public since quitting This Morning in October.

She put on a brave face as she joined her family for a Christmas lunch in south-west London, months when she was too scared to leave her home.

Although the star didn't smile, those close to her say she's “feeling better every day.”

Holly stepped down from This Morning in October (pictured in September 2023) after finally being 'tipped over the edge' by an alleged 'kidnapping and murder plot'

A friend told MailOnline: 'Holly has not wanted to go to a restaurant or anywhere else where other people will see her for some time. She keeps to private places, but little by little she starts to get her life back.

Holly's retreat from the spotlight extends beyond her TV roles. She has even suspended her appointments with Marks & Spencer and L'Oréal because she wants to be at home with her three young children.

Stephen, host of ITV game shows Catchphrase and Deal Or No Deal, is a close friend of Holly and last week signed a deal to host Dancing On after agreeing to step into Schofield's shoes.

However, ITV had no stand-in for Holly waiting in the wings, meaning all hopes were pinned on her.
