Holly’s confirmation that she’s on the mend comes after This Morning fans predicted she’d leave the show after missing out on Phillip Schofield’s return.

Rochelle Humes was dropped on Monday as Holly’s replacement on the 11th hour after the presenter confirmed she had been stricken with shingles.

With Holly forced to stay home until her symptoms have passed, 34-year-old Rochelle was on hand to welcome Phillip Schofield to This Morning after his own long hiatus.

The 61-year-old presenter was back on the couch for the first time since pedophile brother Timothy, a former school teacher, was convicted of 11 sex offenses against a boy.

Still, fans took to Twitter to wonder if Holly would ever return to the show, admitting they couldn’t imagine the pair co-hosting for much longer.

Viewers wrote, “Call me cynical, I think we’ve seen the last of the Phil and Holly duo. #this morning’; “Something’s not right there, bet she’s just trying to stay away from Smugfield and earn her brownie points from #ThisMorning viewers?”

‘I don’t think it will be ‘Phil and Holly’ on This Morning for much longer’; “Oh look, Phil’s back, but no Holly.”

Rochelle and Phillip will host the show’s episode on Thursday, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will perform on Friday as usual.

MailOnline has reached out to Holly’s representatives for comment.

Holly explained to her fans on Sunday that she had been stricken with shingles, which delayed her return to the daytime program after the Easter break.

She wrote, “Hello… I just want to let you know I can be gone for the rest of the week because I have shingles… I will be back as soon as I am better. Big love, Holly xxx.”

The condition, which is transmissible by direct contact, is usually characterized by a painful rash and blisters – usually on the left or right side of the body or face.

It meant a delay in her reunion with Phillip – who had been off the air for two weeks during his brother’s trial.

Other hosts, including Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett, had taken his place alongside regular Holly.

In February, it was claimed that ITV bosses feared Holly could leave ‘This Morning’ after the presenter believed the Queuegate backlash had been ‘mishandled’.

She and Phillip came under fire last year when they were accused of having ‘VIP access’ to ‘pass the Queen in state’, skipping the queue, an allegation the stars and ITV have both denied.

According to a new report, Holly was “devastated” by the public reception and the broadcaster’s “decision to remain silent.”

As a result The mirror confirms that ITV lacks the ‘confidence’ they previously had with Holly’s contract, which expires in December.

The broadcaster would work on a ‘bumper package’ for the presenter to keep her with the channel.

A source told the publication: ‘The backlash in Queuegate was absolutely devastating for Holly, but what made things worse was the feeling that it had been mishandled.

ITV’s decision to remain silent before finally issuing a statement was frustrating as it felt like they were slamming the door after the horse had bolted.

“Bosses know that last year was incredibly difficult for her and as such they are not approaching her contract negotiations with the same confidence as before.”

A source later told MailOnline: ‘Holly is a much loved, respected and valued member of not just the This Morning team, but the entire ITV family.

‘Since Holly joined 14 years ago, This Morning has been part of the national conversation and one of the UK’s favorite daytime shows, and as one of the country’s leading and most talented presenters, ITV has held Holly in high esteem. the banner.’

In addition, a source close to Holly said she had “no plans” to leave This Morning.

Meanwhile, Rochelle has been enjoying her time on the daytime show, but she was redfaced after making a rather brutal blunder on Wednesday’s episode when her earpiece popped out.

Fears: In February it was alleged that ITV bosses feared Holly could leave ‘This Morning’ after the presenter thought Queuegate’s backlash with Phillip was ‘mishandled’

Phillip told viewers that his co-host struggled with the earpiece and it had fallen out a few times in the air due to the “size of her ear holes.”

Rochelle then burst out laughing after falsely telling viewers she had a “big hole.”

The presenting duo then made fun of her ears as they continued to laugh and in the midst of the hilarity, Rochelle accidentally let loose an innuendo.

She said, ‘What can I say guys. I have a big hole… oh my god… in my ear I mean.”
