Rebecca admitted that it sounds “counterintuitive,” but she explained that focusing solely on weight loss can inadvertently set you up for failure.
“Have you ever noticed that as soon as you put it in your brain to want to lose weight, you suddenly start craving all this food?” she asked.
'You suddenly no longer know how to live normally because you think about food 24/7? That happens because our body wants everything we tell it it can't have.'
Rebecca said the “best thing you can do to lose weight is to actually focus on healthy habits.”
She recommended prioritizing the things that make you feel good, such as meditating or exercising, and “letting weight loss be a secondary outcome” of your actions.
The nutritionist added in the caption that this is “something I would love to tell my younger self.”
Rebecca's video has been viewed over 170,000 times and received dozens of comments since it was posted on October 21.
'This is 100% true! I tell this to my clients and they say, “BUT HOW!!” Focus on other things you love!!” one fan responded.

“I unintentionally lost weight when I started putting my health first,” says another.
“That's EXACTLY how I lost 20 pounds. I stopped thinking about weight loss and just continued with my healthy habits and listened to what my body wanted,” someone else added.
Rebecca has been open about her struggles with body image, and in a recent episode of hers In yourself podcast, she talked about how she felt like her 'body was never good enough'.
“I thought that once I lost those five pounds or once I reached that certain body fat percentage, I would be happy with the way I look and then I could love myself,” she recalled.
Ultimately, she realized that it didn't matter what she looked like on the outside, because the confidence and self-love she sought had to come from within.

“The biggest lesson I learned from all of this was that I wouldn't be happy with my body until I decided I was going to be happy with my body,” she said.
“The biggest lesson I learned from all of this was that I wouldn't be happy with my body until I decided I was going to be happy with my body,” she said.
“It wouldn't be something I saw in the mirror. It wouldn't be what the beauty trends reflected that day.
'It would all happen from the moment I could confidently look at myself in the mirror and say, “Okay, yes, I could be happy with this.”
'And the secret is that you can be happy with the way you look now. You can choose to be happy with your body today.”
Rebecca noted that this doesn't mean you don't want to change or improve your physical health.
“I'm always a proponent of that, but now you can come from a place of love, affection and self-love and then take you where you want to go,” she explained.
