Today, show host Hoda Kotb sent a secret signal to her cohost, Jenna Bush Hager, during her coverage of the Thanksgiving Parade, one last time in a blink-and-you’d-miss-the-moment moment.
After successfully orchestrating an extra special gesture for Jenna, 43, during last year’s festivities, the 60-year-old broadcaster opted to give another subtle shoutout while co-hosting NBC’s coverage with Savannah Guthrie on Thursday morning.
This time, Hoda showed off a dance move live on air, right before 600 cheerleaders performed their routine to Chappell Roan’s Hot to Go! as part of the Spirit of America Cheer show.
“Great group, perfect song,” Hoda enthused.
“We had quite a dance,” Savannah, 52, added.
Hoda then raised her elbows and made a small wiggling motion.

Some eagle-eyed viewers spotted the moment for themselves and rushed to social media to share their findings.
Someone turned to X and asked, “Did Hoda just give her a Jenna Bush Hagar signal or was that her dancing lmao #MacysParade.”
“I noticed that too!” said another in response. “I think it had to be @hodakotb signaling to @JennaBushHager!”
A third wrote on Instagram: “Yay, as soon as I saw it I was like YUP that’s for Jenna.”
A fourth wrote: ‘I saw it!! Yelled at my husband THAT’S FOR JENNA!’
Hoda revealed on Wednesday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna that she planned to make a secret gesture.
Speaking on the show alongside Jenna, the mum-of-two said: ‘I’ve been thinking: ‘What could it be?’ And that can only be one thing.’
Hoda then said she would steal Matt Rogers’ dance move
Hoda and Jenna have co-hosted their Today show since 2019
“Every time I see Jenna, I go like this [dances]she continued, demonstrating the move.
Jenna added, “We’re in it together. It’s kind of our call sign.’
Hoda and Jenna have co-hosted their Today show since 2019, with Jenna succeeding former host Kathy Lee.
Last year, Hoda Jenna secretly nodded during her Thanksgiving coverage as she brushed her teeth with her finger.
Unfortunately, Hoda’s subtle gestures toward Jenna will soon be a thing of the past, as the broadcaster will be leaving the Today show in January after nearly seven years at the helm.
The long-serving anchor, who has been part of NBC News for 26 years, announced her departure in September, explaining to her co-hosts that turning 60 had been a “monumental moment” that led her to decide time was to ‘try something new.’
Earlier this month, Savannah announced that Craig will replace Melvin Hoda, whose final episode airs January 10.
It has also been confirmed that Jenna will host the fourth hour of the Today show on her own, with the program being renamed Today with Jenna & Friends.
