Huma Abedin, the ex-wife of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner, has apparently revealed that she is dating billionaire George Soros’ son Alex, who is almost a decade younger than her.
Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide appeared to make her romance public on Wednesday when she shared a photo of herself and Alex enjoying a Valentine’s Day date at a restaurant in Paris.
The image – which was posted to Instagram Stories by both Huma, 47, and Alex, 38 – shows the pair cuddling in a corner booth behind a table strewn with red roses and gifts, while the billionaire playboy shouts a “Happy Valentine’s Day’ adds. ‘ message above their heads.
The pair’s romance comes seven years after Huma divorced her former husband Weiner, to whom she was married for seven years – during which time the couple endured multiple high-profile scandals.
The ex-wife of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin, has apparently revealed that she is dating billionaire George Soros’ son Alex, who is almost a decade younger than her.
Huma has been a longtime assistant and confidante of former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton – who has several ties to the Soros family
However, her new boyfriend is also no stranger to life in the public eye – and he’s no stranger to causing a few controversial headlines either.
For much of his life, Alex was known as a playboy heir who threw lavish parties in the Hamptons and attended many a red carpet event — until last year, when he was named the official heir to his father’s empire worth $25 billion in a shock decision that saw him take over his older brother Jonathan in a business battle that many compared to the HBO series Succession.
When the announcement was made in June 2023, Alex vowed to use his father’s fortune to fund more far-left causes — including abortion rights and gender equality — and told the Wall Street Journal that he was “more political” than George and intended to reflect that in his business dealings.
Speaking about his goals, Alex said he was concerned about the possibility of Republican Donald Trump returning to the White House – suggesting his family would make a major contribution to the Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.
“As much as I would like to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we’re going to have to do it too,” he said.
Those words will undoubtedly have been music to Huma’s ears, as she served at the right hand of former presidential candidate Clinton for years, and was at her side when she lost the 2016 election to Trump.
Clinton’s election loss was the latest in a series of personal blows for Huma, whose then-husband Anthony had been exposed by DailyMail.com just weeks earlier for maintaining a months-long online relationship with a 15-year-old girl, with whom he sent several sordid sexts .
However, it was during Hillary’s failed 2016 run that Huma perhaps first came into contact with the Soros family – when George was revealed as one of five mega-donors responsible for one in every seventeen dollars given to her campaign issued.
Huma’s most high-profile previous relationship was with disgraced politician Anthony Weiner (seen together in 2016) to whom she was married for seven years, from 2010 to 2017.
After years of building a reputation as a playboy, Alex transformed his image in 2023 when he was named heir to his father George’s $25 billion hedge fund empire.
Indeed, Huma’s name has previously been linked to the Soros clan when it was revealed in 2016 that she had exchanged emails with another member of Hillary’s campaign team about a dinner the then-presidential candidate had with George.
In the email, Huma asked Robby Mook, who would eventually run Hillary’s campaign, how to proceed if George asked Hillary to appear at a fundraiser for America Votes, a progressive organization he heavily supported.
Robby then responded, “I would only do this for political reasons (i.e. to make Soros happy).”
In the years since Hillary’s failed campaign, Huma has continued to work closely with her, while also forming several other very high-profile friendships, including with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
In 2022, there were even rumors that Anna had tried to set Huma up with her close friend, actor Bradley Cooper – with reports suggesting the duo had been dating for several months after being set up by the editor turned ‘matchmaker’.
However, the romance with Alex marks the first time Huma herself has shared a new update on her love life with the public – after keeping much of her life under wraps in the years since her divorce from Weiner.
However, the former Clinton aide has not been so reluctant to share her plans for the future, revealing in October 2022 that she “wouldn’t rule out” a possible move into politics.
“I’m at that stage in my life where I say, ‘Never say never,’” Huma said during an appearance on Cats Roundtable. ‘But I don’t see it.
‘I was married for a long time to one of, I think, the most dynamic politicians around – and successful. And I worked for another politician — these were next-level public servants in terms of the work they did,” she said of her ex-husband Weiner and former boss Hillary.
