Hilary Duff admits she NEVER watched Laguna Beach despite being the theme song

Hilary Duff’s song may have been the show’s theme song, but the How I Met Your Father actress never watched Laguna Beach.

The 35-year-old actress revealed that she couldn’t watch the show while it aired because her touring schedule kept her very busy.

Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, more commonly known as simply Laguna Beach, ran for three seasons starting in 2004 and ending in 2006.

The reality show followed the lives of several Laguna Beach High School students and launched the careers of Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari.

Duff’s song Come Clean, which came out in 2003, served as the show’s theme song during its run.

“At a time when you couldn’t record TV shows, I was on tour,” Duff said on See what happens live. So, I missed out on a lot of the important stuff that people talk about that I didn’t get to experience. And then my song was the theme song, and I loved that because I lived on MTV for a while.

Although Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen suggested that Duff got rich off the song, she was quick to clear that up.

“I definitely didn’t get super rich using it as a theme, and I’m not going to pretend to know what happened in the background for them to use,” he said. But they used it.

While she may have been a pop star during the early part of the 2000s, the mother of three has become much more focused on acting in recent years.
