Hilarious video of Angel Reese mic’d up in Chicago Sky training goes viral

A montage of Angel Reese using a microphone during a practice for Chicago Sky goes viral, as the budding sensation decides to poke fun at teammates and coaches.

On Wednesday, Sky posted the one-minute and 18-second video to their social media pages, writing: “We know you’ve all been waiting for this.”

In addition to making three-pointers and sharing handshakes, the video highlights Reese’s banter with her teammates during a scrimmage. She can also be seen making jokes toward coach Teresa Weatherspoon.

“You tired? I know you’re tired,” Reese says to her coach during one of the drills. “Yo, you need some water?” she continued before clapping Weatherspoon’s hands and laughing.

In the following clip, Reese talks about the opposing team during a drill and says, “You guys are getting cooked, Hibachi style.”

Sky guard Chennedy Carter also appears in the video. During a conversation, Reese tells Carter how she “used to be a guard until I got tall.”

Additionally, Reese kept things light during practice, dancing and telling staff to turn up the music.

Chicago currently sits eighth in the league and fourth in the Eastern Conference with an 11-21 record and eight games remaining. While the team has struggled in recent games and has barely made it into the playoff picture, Reese has made her mark on the WNBA as a rookie.

On Sunday, she broke the WNBA record for most rebounds in a single season by grabbing 19 rebounds in a loss to the Minnesota Lynx, bringing her total to 418 for the year. Her 405th board came in the second quarter, breaking Sylvia Fowles’ 404 from 2018.

Reese is averaging 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. She also has 23 double-doubles this season, including 15 in a row — another of her rookie feats.

On Friday, September 6, Sky will take on LA Sparks.
