Next time, hire a designer! These Very Weird Planning Choices Don’t Make Any Sense
We all have our own preferences when it comes to how things should look, particularly when it comes to the place we call home.
But sometimes other people’s design choices can leave us open-headed, and in some circumstances are so bewildering that they don’t make any sense at all.
Funny images, taken by people from all over the world and collected in a gallery by bored pandareveals some of the terrible planning and design options out there.
Among some of the biggest missteps are a stairway that sinks into the carpet, crooked windows, and a front door on top of a sunroof.

Some of the weirdest and most bizarre design flaws have been collected in a Bored Panda gallery. Watch Your Steps: It looks like this railing was being consumed and eaten by the carpet, as it sank into the floor long after the steps were finished.
Who is right and who is wrong? The painting on this road in the UK says ‘look right’ but the arrow appears to be pointing left so which is it? As fun as that sounds, it could have dangerous consequences.
Keep off the grass! This well-meaning sign in the US doesn’t really hold up, when people can see that there really isn’t much grass to stay away from in the first place.
It was probably very innocuously designed, but it actually looks like the planners have done something very crass instead.
Weird or creative? The placement of the windows in this US home appears to have been an afterthought, after the mansion’s windows appear to go down in a strange diagonal pattern. Or was it meant to be designed this way? We are not sure
Let’s hope it’s a temporary solution: the old windows that give this church in Ireland character are not looking right after one of the panes was replaced with double glazing; maybe they are trying to save on their energy bill.
Be careful! That’s a place to put the front door, at the top of a sloped roof. One commenter said that if you jump in and you’re still in one piece, then you can go about your day.
These two windows will give a lot of people a headache, as they both look incredibly uneven and are tilted in different directions.
Close Shave: This fence seems to be in an odd place, cutting down a tree at the edge of two gardens. And it also looks even funnier, with one half of the tree longer than the other.
It’s a long way down! This front door is in a very strange position on the first floor of the house, which appears to be in the UK, and it’s not immediately clear how the heck you get to it.
Click! The doors often have bespoke locks, but this one takes the cake, using a seatbelt to lock off a person’s garden.
