Hilarious moment mother tries on PrettyLittleThing cargo skirt that’s big enough to be a sleeping bag

A mum was left stunned to discover her new PrettyLittleThing skirt was ‘big enough to be a sleeping bag’ after it swallowed up her entire body when she tried to put it on, leaving only her head sticking out.

Naomi Lasington, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was excited when an outfit for her upcoming holiday arrived, but when she opened the package she was ‘baffled’ by the size of one item.

The 30-year-old says she continued to unfold the fashion brand’s Charcoal Ruched Hem Maxi Cargo Skirt like a ‘fruit winder’ before filming her reaction to the fitting.

Her footage shows the irritated charity worker holding the £4 skirt in front of her to show how it reached her chin.

Since she couldn’t wear it on vacation, she joked that it would be suitable for the BFG’s wife, and that she could “hang it as a curtain.”

The 30-year-old Yorkshire native couldn’t help but smile as she modeled the new garment, which also featured a ruched hem and a slit at the back that was “practically at my backside.”

A second clip showed her stepping into the ‘oversized’ skirt and pulling it up until only her neck and head were sticking out of the top.

She jumped back to show it looked like a ‘sleeping bag’ before turning around to show off the stylish rear slit which Naomi said went all the way down to her bum.

The mother-of-one hoped to wear the maxi skirt on a trip to New York a fortnight ago and said it marked the end of her shopping at PLT after a number of sizing issues.

Naomi’s videos have been viewed more than a million times and users were left confused by her description and comedic modeling of the bizarre-looking garment.

However, she apparently returned the item and received a refund.

Naomi planned to wear her new item on a holiday to New York a fortnight ago. She said: ‘It annoyed me because I had the idea for my outfit and New York is like a fashion capital so I wanted to style it with a t-shirt’

The mother of one suggested that in addition to a sleeping bag, she could also use the skirt as a duvet on her son’s bed, or hang it as a curtain.

She said the skirt continued to unfold “like a fruit winder” as she unpacked her new shipment

Naomi, who is 6ft tall, said: “When I filmed the fitting video, that was my natural reaction because I didn’t expect it to go under my chin.”

Naomi said: “He was literally the same height as me and I’m 6ft 6in. So whose bottom half is 6 feet tall?

“I had that excitement when you got an order delivered, but when I opened it, the skirt looked like a fruit wrapper. It kept coming and coming.

“When I filmed the fitting video, that was my natural reaction because I didn’t expect it to go under my chin.

‘On the website you can see that it is oversized, but I didn’t know it would be that oversized.

“It’s a ruffled skirt, so you can pull the sides up a little, but even if I did that, it wouldn’t fit.

‘I laughed and was shocked. I just thought, “What the hell is this?”. I was astounded.

‘The size of it is so funny and the cleavage was practically on my backside.

‘I could have put it as a duvet on my son’s bed.

‘It annoyed me because I had the idea for my outfit and New York is like a fashion capital, so I wanted to style it with a t-shirt.

‘I don’t feel confident buying from PrettyLittleThing again as I’ve spent more time returning things and waiting for a refund than enjoying the clothes.’

The product is still available for purchase on the fast fashion website, where it is paired with a bodysuit and heeled boots and is described as a ‘ruffled hem design’ and ‘maxi length’ – meaning it flares down to the wearer’s ankles or the floor.

Naomi bought a £60 Nike skirt to wear instead and says she’s glad her hilarious videos have made people laugh.

Naomi added that she will no longer purchase from PLT after some sizing issues

She ended up sending the skirt back for a refund and instead bought a £60 Nike skirt, which she wears on her outing

Her clips trying on the skirt have been viewed over a million times and users were left confused by her description and comedic modeling of the bizarre-looking garment

The clips have amassed more than 85,000 likes and nearly 2,000 comments.

One said: ‘She gets in it like it’s a sleeping bag. I am crying.’
