A three-legged bear broke into a family’s front porch in Florida and made itself at home by snacking on some hard seltzers and fish treats.

Joseph Diglio, 13, was watching TV Sunday afternoon at his family home in Lake Mary, Florida, and heard his dog Bruno barking. Soon after, he saw a three-legged bear, known as Tripod to Florida residents, breaking in.

Josaury Faneite-Diglio, Joseph’s mother, received a security camera report around 5 p.m. and saw Tripod wandering down her driveway and approaching the family’s pool.

Tripod eventually entered the house by tearing a giant hole in the patio screen and helped himself with three White Claws. Mango and strawberry were his favorites, Faneite-Diglio said.

‘Oh my God. I’ve never been so close to a bear,” the teen says in the video.

“When I saw him open the fridge, I got scared that he might open the doors of the houses,” Diglio told WESH.

Diglio captured the entire incident on camera. He said this was the second time a bear had broken through their patio screen.

“Honestly, it’s just part of life where we live,” said the 13-year-old.

Bruno’s barking eventually drove the bear away. Reporters who visited Diglio’s house found only the hole in the porch screen the bear made to break in.

The family said Tripod is a “beloved” member of the neighborhood.

“I was not afraid because we know the bear very well. He lives here; we respect their habitat as much as we can,” Faneite-Diglio told WESH.

Bear is not an uncommon creature in Florida as there are about 4,050 in the state according to 2016. the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Dailymail.com reported on a family chased back home by a bear while walking their dog in Apopka, Florida last year, a month after another couple in the same area had a similar encounter.

The Commission stated that it receives up to 6,000 bear-related calls annually. The agency added that in the past 50 years there have been only 15 reported incidents of people suffering moderate to serious injuries as a result of an encounter with a bear.

It also advises people to remove or secure food outdoors, including pet paws, birdseed and garbage, to avoid attracting bears.

There is also a way to avoid conflict between dogs and bears: banging on the door and turning the lights in the house on and off, the worry is off. If a dog and bear fight, make noise and use bear spray or a water hose, the bear will most likely flee.
