Hilarious videos of cats meowing in Irish and Northern Irish accents have gone viral after they resurfaced online.

A clip of Billy the Cat, who reportedly has the “strongest Cork accent you’ll ever hear,” has been viewed nearly 743,000 times after a Twitter user Myles O’Reilly re-shared it online.

Meanwhile, in another viral video posted to Twitter in September 2020, Leo the cat was seen communicating with his owner in what appears to be a thick Northern Irish accent.

Michael Allen, from Derry, posted the clip where the cat’s owner asks the kitten if he’s a “good boy,” to which the cat seems to answer “yes” with a Derry accent.

The video of Billy the Cat, first shared in 2018, was reposted with the caption: ‘A cat with the strongest Cork accent is the best thing you’ll see on the web today. #CorkCat’.

Of course, many found the clip hilarious and in true Irish humor people rushed to the comments to post witty replies.

One person said, ‘I quite certainly met this man at a pint near the airport.’

Another wrote: ‘Honestly, I went out with someone who spoke exactly like that. Ah, you would miss her everywhere.’

While someone else joked: ‘If they put a cap on him, he would be chosen.’

However, many were unimpressed by some who claimed it doesn’t sound like a Cork accent, but more like a Kerry accent.

One person wrote, “That’s a Kerry accent.” while another agreed: ‘Obviously it’s a Kerry accent guys. That cat is from somewhere near Kenmare.’
