Blue Mountains National Park: Hiker dies after falling off a cliff in the Blue Mountains

A man has died after falling from a cliff while walking with friends.

The man, who has yet to be identified, fell from a cliff in NSW’s Blue Mountains National Park, near Mount Piddington Road, about 12.10pm on Friday.

It is understood the group was descending the cliff when the man lost his balance and fell. 7News reports.

Police and ambulance personnel arrived on the scene, but the man died on the spot.

The man, who has yet to be identified, fell from a cliff in NSW’s Blue Mountains National Park, near Mount Piddington Road, about 12.10pm on Friday.

“Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command attended, along with paramedics from Police Rescue and NSW Ambulance,” NSW Police said in a statement.

‘The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.’
