The chase involved a suspect driving a Dodge Charger they stole on Thanksgiving Day.
Police say they attempted to pull over the Charger, but it began to drive away, forcing them to give chase.
Around 3 p.m. Friday, the stolen car fled Long Beach when it encountered a white truck making a left turn into an intersection.
The crash was so violent that the vehicles crashed into a gas station and ultimately a bollard, causing it to fall.
Both vehicles were severely damaged, with the hood of the stolen car completely destroyed

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, where flames were burning above the destroyed Dodge Charge.
The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody after going to a local hospital to treat a broken ankle.
The driver of the car he crashed into was taken to intensive care after serious injuries.
