Fashion-conscious: Model Hailey Bieber
Carrie Bradshaw’s favourite high-heel designer is facing a sales slump as dark clouds gather over the luxury goods industry.
Manolo Blahnik – worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex And The City and model Hailey Bieber – said sales in 2023 were £91.2m.
That was 10 percent less than the year before.
Profit also fell by a third to £13.2m.
The brand has been hit by declining spending on high-end fashion, driven by weak performance in the US and China.
But the company, founded in 1972 by the eponymous designer, described the results as “robust.”
Boss Kristina Blahnik, Manolo’s niece, said: “Our performance is the result of an exceptional year in terms of sales and consumer demand in 2022.”
