A gynecologist practicing in Washington state has been accused of raping an underage female relative in what prosecutors say has been going on for more than six years.

Vulihn Ta, 51, is accused of raping the relative dozens of times in a hot tub when she was 11 or younger. The victim told police he would buy her video games in an attempt to prevent her from telling anyone about the alleged assault.

Court documents say the abuse occurred between the years 2017 and 2024, with the most recent assault occurring in early April. Fox 13 Seattle reported.

The sexual abuse allegedly started when Ta got into the habit of following the victim after she was in the shower. This abuse continued for several years, but apparently escalated when the home had a hot tub installed, according to court documents.

When police asked the victim how many times she had been raped in the hot tub, she said “more than 15” times and more than 20 times since 2019, Fox 13 Seattle reported.

According to the documents, the victim also told police that Ta would buy her new video games to buy her silence.

She showed authorities a list of six receipts for video games purchased in 2022 – all with Ta’s billing address listed – and told them these were the days Ta raped her.

The victim tried to turn down Ta’s offer of video games in exchange for sex several times, but she told police ‘he just forced me to buy the stuff anywaythe Kitsap Sun reported.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ta on April 12 at his home in Bremerton, Washington. DailyMail.com has contacted the county sheriff’s office and the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office.

MultiCare confirmed that it has placed Ta on leave pending an investigation, and that he no longer appears to be included in its list of medical providers.

“We take these allegations of criminal conduct by a provider very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation,” said Scott Thompson, spokesperson for MultiCare.

As of Sunday, Ta remains in custody at the Kitsap County Jail.

He has pleaded not guilty and his trial has been provisionally set for May 28.
