At the second Republican presidential debate last night, DeSantis immediately took action, attacking rival Trump and accusing him of ‘missing in action’.
Trump Jr.’s comments quickly backfired, as many called him out online.
One person said: ‘I don’t think anyone in the field wears more makeup or is more vain than your dad. How often does he tan? You should sit this one out.”
Another said: ‘Spray Tan’s son has jokes.’ A third person wrote: ‘Nobody wears more makeup than the Orange Clown you call daddy.’
And a fourth critic said: ‘Have you seen your father? Have you forgotten that he was on TV for years, covered in makeup?’
Another replied: ‘Yes. He should have makeup sprayed daily. Just like your dear old dad.”
Make-up is often worn by people on television to counteract the glare and glare caused by harsh, often warm studio lighting.
Other people online mocked DeSantis. One wrote: ‘I’m pretty sure he made it a criminal offense for men in Florida to wear that much makeup.’

On a pivotal night in his White House race, DeSantis compared the former president to 80-year-old Joe Biden and asked why he wasn’t on stage to battle the other candidates in California.
‘Donald Trump is missing in action. He should be on this stage tonight,” DeSantis said on a boisterous evening dominated by bickering between candidates, personal attacks and moderators threatening to cut off microphones.
DeSantis then accused Trump of plunging the US into $7.8 trillion in debt, paving the way for “the inflation we have now.”
The performance from the Republican field raised more questions about who — if anyone — can catapult themselves and close the gap with front-runner Trump, who spoke to autoworkers in Michigan instead of attending.
The debate then quickly descended into chaos again as rivals piled on biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy over China, TikTok, the border and his inexperience in politics.
Chris Christie first called Trump “Donald Duck” and claimed the former president was too “scared” to face the rest of the field at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Mike Pence then made a bizarre reference to “Sleeping with his wife of 38 years” in response to Christie’s jab at Jill Biden for being a member of a teachers union.
