Heroic five-year-old saves his mother’s life by calling 999 when she collapsed unconscious on the floor of their home

A five-year-old boy is being hailed a ‘hero’ after he saved his mother’s life by calling 911 as she lay unconscious in their home.

When Ruby Natalie, 30, started feeling dizzy on August 8, she decided to lie down and ‘watch a bit of TV’ in her central London apartment.

Less than an hour later, her youngest son JJ, five, came into the bedroom asking for a drink. When she went to get him something, she suddenly passed out.

The mother-of-one told MailOnline: ‘I obviously jumped up straight away to get him a drink.

‘And then in the hallway, I don’t remember anything. That’s where I collapsed.’

The young man had asked his influencer mother for a drink, but when she went to get him one, she collapsed

As his mother lay unconscious, brave JJ used her phone to dial 999 and speak to an operator.

While most five-year-olds would have burst into tears, paramedics later said JJ remained “relaxed” and “very calm.”

Under the guidance of the 911 operator, JJ carefully placed his mother in the recovery position and monitored her breathing.

Ruby said: ‘There was a point where he couldn’t hear me breathing and he calmly said to the operator, “I don’t know if Mom died.”

‘And then I took another breath and he said, “Oh no, no! Mommy’s alive! She’s alive! She’s alive!”‘

Ruby, who works as an influencer, recently moved to central London with her nine-year-old sons JJ and Leo.

The youngsters are still getting used to their new surroundings. When the operator asked JJ for his address, he replied: ‘London’.

When asked where they were in the capital, JJ replied, “A tall building.”

As brave as JJ was, he quickly called 999 and was ‘very calm’ when speaking to the operators

Ruby said, “God bless him. He tried to play it down by saying our apartment has three balconies. He’s a little gem.”

Later, the operator asked JJ to unlock the door in preparation for the emergency services to arrive, but the bright five-year-old told him he wouldn’t do it “because of the presence of strangers.”

“I’m not going to unlock the door until you get here,” JJ explained.

Ruby began to regain consciousness as emergency services arrived, along with her fiancé Ansis, 26, who was repairing his new car in a nearby car park at the time.

Nine-year-old Leo was also away when Ruby collapsed, leaving young JJ to deal with the crisis alone.

“I woke up and my back was so numb because I landed on it so awkwardly,” Ruby said. “I was screaming because I thought I was paralyzed.”

She was rushed to St Thomas’ Hospital in London, where doctors saw blood around her right fallopian tube and rushed her into emergency surgery.

Ruby stayed in the hospital for four days to recover. JJ made sure to stop by with a bouquet of flowers for his devoted mother.

The young mother is now back home and JJ is thrilled with his newfound fame.

Ruby said: ‘He’s really pleased with himself. He understands that he’s in the papers and he keeps saying, “Oh, I’m famous and famous.”

As JJ had only recently moved into the apartment, he was still getting used to the location and was unable to give the 999 operators an exact address

However, thanks to the little boy, emergency services were able to pinpoint his location more precisely (pictured: with his mother Ruby)

JJ, who Ruby describes as “an adult in a child’s body,” will start first grade in September.

“He’s the smartest in his class and when people hear him talk, they’re amazed,” she said.

‘Because the stuff he puts out is literally like a grown man in a child’s body. His vocabulary is incredible.

“He’s my hero.”
