England’s quarter-final hero Bukayo Saka surprised his team-mates with his golfing skills on Sunday, but fell flat on his face seconds later.
After scoring in regulation time and then converting his penalty in England’s shoot-out win over Switzerland on Saturday, Saka had the rest of the day off on the golf course.
The players took part in a light-hearted ‘North versus South’ tournament, with some clearly more capable than others with a bat in hand.
Saka appeared to know little of what he was doing but after some helpful tips from Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter, he hit a fine tee shot to the cheers of his bewildered teammates.
“The best photo of my life!” exclaimed Saka, while Poulter added, “Flushed, flushed.”

But then he fell over his own bag, sending the entire team into hysterics

But as he walked back with a beaming smile on his face, Saka tripped over his own golf bag and fell to the ground, sending the entire team into hysterics.
Saka could also see the humour in it as he slowly got back up and then shook hands with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The video, posted on England’s official X account, also featured players such as Jude Bellingham, Alexander-Arnold, Ivan Toney and Declan Rice, highlighting just how competitive the squad really is.
Alexander-Arnold hit several daisy cutters, while Bellingham (like Beckham) hit the ball into the rough, while looking more like Happy Gilmore.

“Let me cook,” Bellingham said, stepping aside for another shot before hitting the ball perfectly into the middle of the fairway – much to his surprise.
Aaron Ramsdale, Harry Kane and Rice, meanwhile, showed the rest of the team how it’s done, displaying a precise form that suggests their local courts are fully paid up.

With England preparing for the semi-finals of the European Championship, the focus will once again be on the football pitch.
England will play the Netherlands in Dortmund on Wednesday at 20:00 (BST) in the second semi-final of the tournament. Spain and France, who meet in the first semi-final of the tournament at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday, could play each other.
Fans will be hoping that the rest of the team shows up with the same drive and puts in a performance that is anything but sub-par.
